with more trains running this is going to become an issue in a lot of places.
the more numerous trains especially oil and intermodal will continue to make this an issue. traffic is only getting busier through there on both lines.
i saw L091? while driving this morning. 5 or 6 up units i think. 7132 was one of the engine #'s. he was approaching cp-15 just west of buffalo around 0905.
most trains don't blow their whistles but you will get the occasional train that decides to. overall i think its a very lame thing on a very busy mainline not to blow their whistles at each grade crossing.

pembroke, nc or dillon, sc would be the closest spots to myrtle beach with legitimate mainline action.
the rocky mount and hamlet ones are pretty cool. i went there years ago to railfan. fun spots to railfan at.
