A lot of track work by Elkhart and Porter I'm hearing. It seems like that is a major issue out there right now. NS supposedly said opening a new hump at Bellevue will help them out later this year.

the more numerous trains especially oil and intermodal will continue to make this an issue. traffic is only getting busier through there on both lines.

i saw L091? while driving this morning. 5 or 6 up units i think. 7132 was one of the engine #'s. he was approaching cp-15 just west of buffalo around 0905.

most trains don't blow their whistles but you will get the occasional train that decides to. overall i think its a very lame thing on a very busy mainline not to blow their whistles at each grade crossing.

pembroke, nc or dillon, sc would be the closest spots to myrtle beach with legitimate mainline action.

the rocky mount and hamlet ones are pretty cool. i went there years ago to railfan. fun spots to railfan at.
