I saw this posted on several places on Facebook. It has a pretty good description of what they want to do with the trail, including where it will be within the right of way. http://www.beaconlinerailtrail.org/ Under the documents tab is this pdf that describes in detail each section of the trail, in...
Just noticed this thread.... My website with a landscape, railroads, firetrucks, and whatever else catches my fancy. Artwork that is for sale... https://kurt-vondietsch.pixels.com/ My Flikr account.... https://www.flickr.com/photos/grumpyff/ Lastly, for just railroad related photos, http://grumpyff....
Looked like a rough day for the Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley yesterday. From the http://www.allotsego.com/ "The antique rail cars that line Route 7 near Colliersville broke loose and crossed onto the highway, bring state police to the scene. No further details were immediately available. On...

Pretty cool that it made the news! When i was there, the plexiglass was a bit loose. The map is glued to the backing, so there is no way to take it down, without removing the board its on completely.
Allan,
If you go, it was in the mezzanine, inside the fare control area near the token booth. IIRC, it faced away from the turnstiles.
I found this 1974 Massimo Vignelli NYC Subway map in the mezzanine of 57 Street/6 Avenue on the F train this week. They had removed some advertisements, and it was still glued to the base. If you look closely, the Culver Shuttle is still posted, as it ended service in 1975
Looks like the lead engine was 57
Here is a short video I took on 12/4/16 at 42 Street of the one northbound trip the train made. They had a problem in the 6th car, and had to leave it and the two cars behind it at 2 Avenue.

I was at Lexington/63 Street this morning, and noticed they were running trains on track behind the wall (new Second Avenue). Sounded like they were running at a decent speed, some would stop, others would slow for the station.
I spotted one of the track geometry cars testing the new track on Second Avenue. I saw it thru one of the doors at Lexington/63 Street today.. Upper level,There were too many construction workers in the way to get a picture, but it came into the station from the new tunnel, and then reversed directi...
My question is ? we know there is limited service, but is the average commuter such a one trick pony, that they can not figure alternative ways ?? The railroad can't fix it faster, the railroad has no control over assets outside Metro North or its availability. But really is average commuter really...
CSX's "Spirit of the B&O" was seen on the River Line on 4/19/16 bringing up the rear of an empty rail train
