My experience in real estate has been that easements are used for utilities for the general public good that involves minimal invasion of property. Electrical overhead wiles, water pipes underground, etc. Something like a ground intensive use like a railroad gets subject to condemnation proceedings ...

It appears the redevelopment authority purchased the land from the railroad and sold it outright to Walmart and the car dealership. That is going to make it very problematic to try to build a railroad on somebody's private business property that doesn't want it.

Probably the CA11. That’s a big train for them which occasionally does happen. Sounds like you were in Woodbury when you saw it? West Deptford, Grove Ave. What struck me as odd was that it was headed in the opposite direction of what it usually does. It certainly looked like CA11. Maybe something t...

Just saw the longest train I ever saw going to Pennsville at 130p today. Three engines and 140 cars. Really backed up the road crossings.

It actually looks like the right of way is running down the gravel path to the rear of Quigley Chrysler. https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3523485,-75.6289244,3a,15y,181.32h,89.41t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sYlPr6w7VP31hm063TUSnRQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192?entry=ttu Not that it would be any easier to thread it thro...

Are they putting in new business? Can't see what business would move in down there. Only been thru there twice before yesterday. Station track didn't look all that bad before. Why the work? Also, from your pics I'd saw you yesterday taking them. They do car storage. That's where the money is.

Why does it cost 5 1/2 million dollars per vehicle?

Call the connected consultants, boys. The gravy train is in.

Plan is one by July. One by October. One by Christmas. Hope for the steam engine is the fall.

https://imgur.com/a/2xjXxm6 Had a problem today at Mannington Acton Station Road as a truck driver hauling a low boy, I guess, decided he could beat the train and sped up at the crossing but didn't make it. The train overturned the low boy and one set of trucks on the engine derailed. One of the eng...

I believe Pureland is where the manufacturing is taking place now and Salem is mostly corporate offices, but I'm not absolutely certain on that. Maybe somebody knows for sure. I was told SMS has their own car storage contracts and they've run out of space on the Pennsville. That was hearsay but putt...

Just google railfanned the line. Mannington Mills is till pretty big, according to the goog. Also possible consignees in Salem, with sidings already in place. SMS has a much better track record in trying to get new business than SRNJ, so hopeful. (SRNJ doesnt seem to want to operate that much anymo...

None of these are as good as a 12 Oz strip sirloin charbroiled. Amtrak can try to sell all the microwave crap it wants, it’s not a food properly done by a chef and cooks. This. I wish AMTRAK would concentrate on serving regular food instead of culturally significant, delicate, gently handled, succu...

Empire Blended closed their Salem Plant. There's nothing south of Swedesboro that I know of that could use rail service. That's why SMS will use Salem Yard for car storage.
