Cars 4060,61,62,63,were AC propulsion only. They were used exclusively for Harlem River Branch service. With the NH discontinuing the branch local service, the cars were loaned to the NYWB,even fitted with NYWB metal destination signs. When the Westchester discontinued service, the cars went back to the ...

It's been said before but seems to be forgotten:The complex at Harmon is still under going improvements with construction. This should be the final phase when the electric shop is completed.Until then,I wouldn't hold my breath.Perhaps when the project is over and done with, the MTA might elect to open...

I found in the August,1962,issue of Trains magazine,a photograph with a short caption describing the push-pull subject. The photo doesnot show the entire consist,am only able to see 7 cars minus the P motor 235.The train is southbound[railroad east] on the Hudson in February,1962.The standard air-con...

Don't feel bad, travelsonic.I left in the Bronx, the NYWB logo from the Mamaroneck Avenue station, gave away a danger sign from Mt.Vernon, lost a 1910 & 1913 datenails from Gedney Way.However,I will keep until death,my assortment of station and destination signs.

The board at the DRM is very slow in acting on fulfilling requests.I will attend the board meeting on Thursday,07/18,to see if they have followed through on contact information. If they havenot,I will.Since the first pair of M2's-8400-01 have gone to FICX,I have requested a mismatch pair,if possible....

Good News: I received a positive response from the MTA on 07/12/13 regarding the DRM as follows:"we should be able to satisfy your request to obtain an M2 pair over the next year".

Rereading my NYWB historical accounts for the umpteenth time,I just want to set the record straight on Judge Knox: he is not the bad guy as potrayed by Roger Arcara and others who followed Roger's lead. The judge's directive of June 9,1939,ordering the scrapping of the copper wires to help satisfy so...

All this talk of DRM obtaining a pair of M2"s is dust in the wind.DRM was promised by MTA/CDOT a pair and they just keep going to scrap.I constantly question the board of DRM when are the M2's coming and no one knows.DRM and the people of MTA/CDOT cannot get it together.I have informed the DRM ...

Japp, your assessment of the DRM is very cruel. The purpose of the museum is the preservation of railroad rolling stock and assortment of related memorabilia.Without a museum, trains would all go to scrap and never to be seen up close again, and other items would remain in private collections or they to...

The last time I was an engineer on the Putnam Industrial Track as it was called then, the steel frame work for the VC Park station canopy was still there. One of the new GE B23'S radiator wing span was dented by the structure prohibiting B23'S on the PUT.If it is still there today, you can use it as a ...

There is little truth in reporters comments since they know very little in regards to the subject they are reporting, they exaggerate the situation and use they're own interpretion to make a point.I got zapped with 11,000 volts many years ago. When I read the newspaper article about my injury, the only...

Found this tidbit from an article written by a Union Pacific engineer in the November 1958 issue of trains magazine-on December 12,1945,he was operating a troop train in Los Angeles, consisting of 21 NYWB cars pulled behind a 2-8-0 steam engine.21 cars was exactly half the amount of servicable Westch...
