There's been a long line of lp gas tanks, stretching the entire length of the yard, sitting on the 2nd track in on the west side of the yard for well over a month now, at least 6 full weeks. It has not moved the entire time. I've never seen anything sit on those main yard tracks for that long before...

Tons of cars on the Turner Island tracks lately, numerous tank cars as well as lines of centerbeam lumber racks, some covered gondolas, and even a carload of polls the other day, business seems to be booming !

A few weeks back they set off long strings of solid IATR double door highcubes in the storage area on the west side of the yard. Never had noticed those around here before. Not sure if they are being leased by Pan Am, or maybe one of the mills, or were just stored here temporarily. Haven't noticed a...

I meant in Maine, should have specified. Yes, a lot if not all, of the reefers destined for Portsmouth come into Rigby now, and are brought down there by a switcher. I was trying to recall any reefer customers in Maine. Do recall back in 1998 they had an UPFE brought thru Bangor, for potato seed loa...

I remember about 10 or 12 years ago the Fore River warehouse complex in Portland was getting a steady supply of insulated west coast boxcars set at their outdoor transload dock. Thought i heard it was all canned goods for Hannaford. Wonder what happened to that scenario, haven't seen one there in a ...

I've been noticing for a while now that there are 2 lines of grey covered hoppers set a bit beyond the office building, in the vicinity of the old clean out tracks area, with trucks coming and going between the lines. Assuming these are plastic pellets being transloaded, but not certain at all, and ...

Thanks for the nice updates ! Good to hear the reefer traffic is steady, didn't know that Tyco even still got cars. The past few times we've been by there it's been empty, you're talking Hampton right ? I remember back in the 90's their siding was always full and there were always many hoppers store...

Just heard that 2 more reefers have been set at that siding, maybe this will become a regular customer ! I'm not in the area lately so can't get a photo, maybe somebody else can roll by there and snap one...

Miller beer generally moves in Sou/NS insulated boxes, but anythings possible. I recall during the 90's they were getting ATSF insulated boxes in there, which I believe were canned goods from CA being stored for Hannafords. Great to see it in use once again !

2 ARMN reefers were recently spotted set at the siding located between the two warehouses on the east side of Rigby yard ! Haven't seen anything on that spur in over a decade. Clynk is on one side, northeast distribution on the other, not sure who's getting product or what it may be.

My grandfather told me he used to watch the trains go by on the Whitestone branch when he was a kid, lived in that town his entire life 1922-2010. He said the line ended by Tropicana, which is located at the corner of Powells Cove & 154th St, at the waterfront.
