30th Street station is owned by Amtrak. Not only is there the station space, but Amtrak has offices and other support services in the building as well. Septa and NJT are merely tenants with Septa using the upper level platforms exclusively. If Amtrak (and the NEC) were ever shutdown, Septa operation...

The NJT train from Cherry Hill will bring you into the lower level of 30th Street Station. Follow the signs for Septa Regional Rail and go up the ramp to the upper level. The ticket windows will be on your left side and the Airport trains depart from the center set of platforms (and stairs).

Last year there was a item on the RCTHS website regarding Reading Dining Car 1186 which has served as the "Steak & Bagel Train" at Broad and Callowhill Streets in Philadelphia for many years. I was just by that location last week and surprised to see that the car was still at the site....

In Norristown, along the ex-RDG, now Septa R6 and south (east) of Dekalb Pike, trackage that ran adjacent to the main and into several warehouses can still be seen, and the original ROW is still intact. Up until the recent redevelopment, there was also quite a bit of industrial street trackage along...

These pictures are obviously from the west coast but clearly show the trucks http://www5.pair.com/rattenne/nrhs/Amtrak/gallery.htm.
Walthers also captured this difference quite nicely on their HO scale Horizon models.

As a victim of the "Septic" system (no pun intended), you guys should be happy that you HAVE restrooms to leak onto the tracks. Down here we just have to hold our own water.

Jersey_Mike, you are correct on the location. It is just north of Wilmington near the Dupont Edgemoor plant. The green roof behind the unit is a marina / park that is sandwiched between the tracks and the river. I would also speculate that it is just out of the paintshop and enroute to the shops in ...

Pacobell, The track between Hellertown and Bethlehem is mostly intact with a couple of breaches. I know of a definite breach at the Hem approach signal and the buried track adjacent to Union Station (now St Luke's). The track between Hellertown and Q'town is also largely intact except for a signific...

The Reading used similar classifications on the rebuilt Blueliners as well as its' RDC's and road diesels in the 60's. The RDC's were designated RDB (Reading Diesel Budd), while the diesels locos were designated RSA (Alco), RSE (EMD) and RSG (GE), typically with a suffix of 14. According to an artic...
