I think the station is clean. i can't see how only having two out of 4 escalators running non rush hour affects service. Prime time all 4 are running in the main group and the ones in the elevator tunnel are there to use. if the escalator roof leaks (shocking with all the underground rivers in NY, h...
thanks.
All this at the beginning of rush hour unless all commuter rail was relegated to the
lower level at that time.
when the 20th Century was made up at Mott Haven, was it shoved to GCT or looped, then backed into place?
this morning the blockage was on the staircase side, leaving the track gates free. It appears they are patching the ceiling, if one looks at the fresh paint uo there
Zaros is between 19/18 and 17/16
the construction is block half the hallway under the arch leading to the Lexington avenue passage Zaros there was towards the 18/19gate.
I'll look today of that Zaros is involved also.
curious what it is since it is blocked from floor to ceiling on the main level. It doesn't extend to the lower level.
i was under the impression that only the upstairs Juniors was closing, not the downstairs. Not true?
So from what I'm reading from other books is that the Budd Keystone "tubular" car set - with the two level coaches
air conditioning etc, that required the HEP/Kitchen car never made it past 1956/57.
Another source mentioned that they were rough riding.
Thoughts?
if working diesel engines are not allowed in the North River tunnels and NYP,
how did they have generator cars to supply HEP to Amfleet cars and the Budd Keystone experimental car set set pulled by GG1's?
maybe this is the project?

one other thing i failed to mentioned was that the concrete slab does not extend from the awning to the Mamk Ave stairs - a 30 foot gravel patch. Why the whole piece wasn't paved at once who knows.
they've concreted the wilderness part and built what looks to be a lit 40 foot awning (akin to over the station platforms). Doesn't seem to make any sense other than a future place for TVM's, can't be a bus shelter - still have to go down stairs to Mamk Ave, it's not on street level, didn't look too...
I'd be getting off a NRO after a full day in Boston. so it would be more convenient than Peter Pan Bus or flights back to HPN or LGA or getting off at NYP and backtracking to Westchester
so maybe just make Bridgeport and NRO a discharge only flag stop.
