Does anyone know the clearance or plate for the West Side Freight Line?
What about when containers start coming down from Saint John?
I think that land being cleared to the right with the two buildings on it is the piece of property that was sold to CSX. The clearing does look excessive to extend a couple of sidings doesn't it?
Wow. Something is going on in Keag. Looks like a lot more than just adding a siding doesn't it?
Wonder if this was moving on the main or switching the lumber company. Maybe the lights did not come on, but it looks like the car ran into the side of the train. He couldn't see the train crossing in front of him? Even if a train is flagged across a roadway, once the engine has crossed the flagman ...
Well that is pretty interesting.

So nothing is going out of there by rail right now, right?
When my kids were younger, we would always try to get seats facing each other with a table in between if we could (this was on the Acelas) or spent a lot of time in the cafe cars at a table, and my wife I still prefer to travel that way, so I'm looking forward to rear facing seats in the Airo train...
There is a wild rumor going around Billerica that with the Casco dredging CN is interested is redeveloping the old BM Baked Bean plant and the adjacent marina into a new container port. They would buy back and run the GT the whole way. I'm sure CSX would love that to happen right in their new back ...
We're talking about the Regional here. What's the average trip length on this route? 2 hours? Who cares? What diner? I hear you but which seat would you rather sit in for two hours: girl in seat.jpg seats.jpg Report from reddit: The new Venture car seats are TERRIBLE Trip Reports I took my first ri...
Really? You really think any appreciable number of people are going to stop taking the train because of this? It's kind of an accumulation thing. I can take Amtrak, drive or fly. I really like taking Amtrak. It's a nice experience. Sure the employees can be rather surly and it's kind of slow, but t...
It's not about the time in operation... it's about repair costs. Seats with fewer moving parts will cost less in terms of downtime and parts over the 10-15 years that will elapse between cabin overhaul. As built Amfleet and Horizon coaches had reversible seats but these are the OLD Cars. The new Airo fleet and others will have fixed seating - the NEW Cars. Seems like a majority of Amtrak passengers prefer facing in the direction of travel. Heaven forbid the OLD Cars would be preferable to the NEW ...
