Ever wondered how many state capitals Amtrak actually visits? No column: (1) Anchorage (2) Honolulu, (3) Olympia, (4) Boise, (5) Carson City, (6) Phoenix, (7) Santa Fe, (8) Helena, (9) Pierre, (10) Baton Rouge, (11) Des Moines, (12) Madison, (13) Frankfurt, (14) Nashville, (15) Tallahassee, (16) Co...

An interesting article, dated July 13, 2010 . Looks like 90 mph was promised back then. But the current promises could vary. LOL. the Obama era stimulus grants came with a lot of false promises. Chicago - St Louis 110 mph by 2015, North Carolina Piedmont 90 mph, Connecticut New Haven-Hartford corri...

WIth regard to PTC, it appears Anderson has decided Amtrak will suspend any trains not on PTC by the end of the year. This may be the single stupidest thing I have ever heard. Maybe I'm too cynical, and I hate to veer toward conspiracy theories ... But I do wonder if threatening to pull Amtrak trai...

Two more coming out named after cities they most likely will never visit :-) Soooo True! Ever wondered how many state capitals Amtrak actually visits? VA DRPT ... an extraordinary position to be in. ... the real problem is going to be figuring out what they can or will do ten years from now. The next steps once the Virginia Regional network is built out are not clear at all other than perhaps more trains to the same places. They'll need more mone...

There's a time and place for everything. This place is the thread about Viewliner II Deliveries, where we have been counting the diners as they enter the fleet one by one. So the post is completely relevant. Let's assume the post is limited to the topic, with all due respect, and all our larger thou...

The slow sections can be upgraded to 60 - 80 MPH and you get more bang for the buck instead of spending first on higher speeds. Going from 60 - 80 MPH takes much more track miles than 30 - 60 . 80 MPH/ You get more time reduction with the 30 - 60 increase. That means much more money !s available to...

Is CSX having a "fire sale", or an auction with reserve? The B&A is gone, done, no longer a part of CSX. No CSX employees will operate and CSX will have no presence east of the Hudson, aka Selkirk. This is a total abandonment of N.E. by CSX, look for everything west of Springfield to ...
