Montpelier and Nashville are due out of CAF on February 27, according to a poster-in-the-know on AU.

Soooo True!

Can you now create a list of the capitals based on the given Viewdiner names (i.e. there's no planned Sacramento so you can leave that off :-)

And then a list of ones where it might be possible to visit at all (i.e. no Amtrak train is getting to Honolulu under its own power. I'm not even sure if they could get to Juneau honestly ;-)

Maybe not! In that case, 20 nots becomes 22 and 30 yeas becomes 28.

Amtrak visits Bismarck and Cheyenne?
Isn't it the same train that stops at Montgomery and Montpelier?

OTOH, seems like a large share of the on/offs at the Olympia-Lacey station think it serves Olympia, while another large group using the Maricopa station think it serves Phoenix badly. Many users at Hammond, LA, think that a 45-mile drive to/from Baton Rouge ain't half bad, like those in Carson City grateful to have service at nearby Reno.

(I always keep an old-fashioned paper-copy road atlas at hand when on these boards. LOL.)

Close only counts in tossing horseshoes and hand grenades. If the station is not located within that city limits, it’s not being counted by me. If Amtrak’s Pennsylvania Station was in Hoboken, would you count that as New York City?

Hoboken is the best example. Hop off there, get on an adjacent ferry or subway, and you're in NYC in ten minutes. I've never bailed out at Maricopa, but I bet it's a long wait for interline transit to downtown Phoenix.

Then, you'd have to scrap Albany as well since the station is actually in Rensselaer.

Quick detour:

I took a flight today on American on an A330 in first class (domestically; internationally it counts as "Flagship Business"):

https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/exp ... e&from=Nav" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Lie-flat seats, video monitor, table, small desk, small space for storage.

Since discounted sleeping car tickets on the Silver Starve seem to be selling well, I vote for Amtrak to have a high-density sleeping car with seats like the Flagship Business ones on the A330. They didn't have a full wall around them on the plane, but if Amtrak would just install those seats and put a full wall around them, I'd gladly book them. Maybe there could be 2 levels of them, like in a Slumbercoach?

So you are NOT counting the East Lansing station d.b.a. Lansing?

Delta's mini suites would work better in a rail car. Would really like to see these on the "Night Owl".
