Does SEPTA have work equipment in Powelton Yard that can be used to polish the rails and more importantly make sure that crew qualifications on the branch don't expire if any are set to expire during this outage?
Not with the cab cars having been converted to work service.
Just had a random thought about the Airport Line.
Could Airport trains simply run between Suburban and the Airport bypassing Eastwick (the only low platform station on the line) which would allow SEPTA to lease Metro-North M8s for that line and redeploy Silverliners to lines that really need them?

SEPTA still does that with the Silverliner IVs and Bombers.
Does CDOT have spare MAFERSA cars?
Are they doing some sort of work on the line near Lakehurst and Whiting? I've seen what appears to be MOW equipment parked along the line in these areas.
With the AEM7s soon to be gone, Amtrak's oldest locomotives in revenue passenger service would be Dash 8-32BWHs, which were built in 1991, followed by the P40DCs (1993), the P32AC-DMs and HHP8s (1996), and the F59PHIs (1998). Some people might also count the NPCUs even though those are unpowered. I...

Of course these days, the railroad would make the stop a regular stop and punish the train crew for giving the "customer" a hard time.

What's taking so long?
Any idea what the car contained?
Part of the problem these days is the amount of burden placed on kids between the outrageous amount of prep for Common Core testing in schools and parents micromanaging their kids' lives to the point that the kids don't even know where the parent ends and they begin. Sadly, parents (and schools) don...
So whats going to happen to those of us that have monthly passes, if a strike were to happen? I live in morristown and take train to commute to hoboken, pretty sure my monthly pass is going to be useless during a strike, as no buses will be going anywhere near hoboken. Not an amazing option, but yo...
Freight rail will also grind to a halt unless NS and CSX are already making plans of their own.
