Re: **LONG ISLAND PRESERVATION NEWS**

I have had choice words in the past and Aide de Camps phrasing on other web pages but I have to stand my ground with this one. They have continued and completed what Twin Froks NRHS/RMLI started almost ten years ago and 1556 looks great what ever the rivet counters say.

The only locomotive that I am a foamer with is the EMD BL2. When I was aquired an unfinshed layout from a freind, I decided that the first pic I should take is of BL2 # 50 in HO Scale with BAR stock. No sign of a crossing at River Rd. yet, but piles of ties stacked nearby. . When I was talking to some of the workers about what they plan to do is lay the rail along CT Ave to the crossing connect to the track in the crossing. Then into the grumman site they will connect it to the crossing and com...

Just seemed strange to see it on the other side of a nursing home. Almost is as weird as driving by Big Bear Farms and seeing the coach almost in the road.

I must say this, they need an upgrade on these trains. The MU's are nice but are not good on a 4 hour trip. Now the two CRRofNJ cars is a differnt story. I think it is great they are expanding their operations. Just would like to see the exLIRR cars back in service.

The jacket on 16 looks great the pictures do not do it justice. Come on out and see it for yourselves when the museum opens for the season. Also come out and take a look at the work Twin Forks NRHS is doing on our Jordan Spreader the long awaited restoration has begun. The two work sessions we had w...

Is the locomotive still in Lacawaxen? I was in Honesdale this weekend and saw no other locomotives besides the Maine Central GP7.

I believe it is a Jersey Central private car once owned by Ron Zeil, since this trip was a fundraiser I believe for the Sag Harbor and Shuttle Hole Railroad that never materielized more then just on paper.

The hacks in Riverhead C-60 (loaned to the transit museum), C-63 and 64 are owned by Twin Forks NRHS except C-68 which is owned by RMLI. The Chapter also owns #1 OBRRM's #2's sister. I would love to get the rest but cant be to greedy with hacks.
