if you do some research ,the RR 's are recieving much Government , state and local funding for thier projects. As a condition of such favor, dont put it past them to advertise they are hiring when indeed it may not be a critical need at the moment. do some digging. Thats just crazy talk. My brother...

And by the same token, too many old heads that hired on in their teens have never learned that's it's a big world out there and that railroading isn't the only job that has hazards. They have a hard time comprehending that in my opinion. Kinda comical.

I will argue that... :-D BNSF (former ATSF Coastlines) has the highest guaranties in the nation. Conductors extra board guarantee is $4000/half or $8000/month... :wink: Also, BNSF will pay you at 100% when working as a conductor or yard foreman. Other RR's will start you of at 75% no mater what pos...

Here's the deal as far as BNSF anyway...the strength test is given to measure consistancy between your left side/right side. They are concerned with discovering previous injuries, not how strong you are.

I got a little over $5900 gross. Worked the extra board since 2004 pretty steady, so that's probably about an average amount.
