Yes, this equipment still exists, right along Route #5 in East Barnet, VT. When I passed there last summer, the grass and weeds had grown up quite a bit and a clear photo like that would not be possible. I have never stopped there and I do not know if the owner permits fans on the property.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think one of those 44-tonners might end up on the soon-to-be-built Downeast Scenic Railroad in Maine. They mentioned in their last newsletter that somebody was loaning them a 44-tonner.

While that might very well be true,judging from the picture it looks like the 44 tonners are far from operating condition.It looks like some didn`t even have the stairs to get into the cab on them.However,that is just my guess.Anyway would any of those engines be able to operate with some work?
