Only the rebuilt k cars blinds are south. A few 900s too on 2 doubles 3 flats set. More of them will head north and replace the rest of the 1600s as the remaining cars for the order comes into service

Anybody know what happened to 1700? Last seen 3 months ago but recently assigned north almost 2 weeks ago according to NETransit. Did it break and had to be sent to BET to be fixed or something like that?

According to MBTA Video Clips, we've lost all 900s on the South Side. This kinda sucks because we have now lost the last of the original build Kawasakis, as well as the fact that the more 900s go up north, the more troubled new 800s come to take their place.

I betcha 1700 and 1701 are spare control coaches meaning that they are on standby, but not assigned to any sets at the moment. That’s why certain control coaches aren’t active for some time. They rotate them between active service and spares. Same with engines.

not sure what the obsession is with Kawasaki CCs SS, but as of 2/2: SS 1705, 1709, 1711, 1715

The equipment cycles have no rhyme or reason. The K cars are not getting "removed" from SS, all depends on the rotation of equipment, what gets picked for what. We have not "lost" all 9** series SS either, not sure where you're getting your information from, I had some on my sets this week.
