Looking at early BN Alliance Division timetables, there were not any speed restrictions for passenger trains going through Brush Jct. and Brush, CO. In the early '80's restrictions of 20-35 MPH began cropping up. Noting that the BN had a line from Sterling that connected with the line from Lincoln, I'm wondering if a line relocation took place that resulted in the speed restrictions.

Up until a consolidation in the early 1980s, Sterling was in the Colorado Division. We ran over the Union Pacific Julesburg Sub Sterling-Union where we took the Hillrose Sub on into Brush. There was a set of crossovers in Brush Hillrose Sub-McCook main that was ten mph at least L/1970s-M/1980s when I bid out of Sterling.
