UM&P owned by the defunct Allen Wood Steel Co. of Conshohocken, PA. Became Chester Valley Div of PRL-EPRY. Shuffled rail cars to plants on both sides of the Schuylkill, interchanged with PRR/Reading/Conrail. Baldwin/Alco rebuilds S6 / VO-1000 #s 51 and 101, and a slug. I believe they may have had other SW-7? NW-2? units as well (#9007-9008-9009?), and a whole lot of open hoppers.

About a year and a half too late, but...

The UMP Railroad still operates in Conshohocken at the old Allenwood Steel Plant. The mill became Lukens Steel, then Bethlehem Lukens Plate and now it is named something else. The UMP actually has nothing to do with the Chester Valley Branch or the EPRY, other than the fact that, last I knew, the UMP 9008 was the motive power on that branch.

In addition to the mill in Conshohocken the UMP services a chemical plant, the Philadelphia Enquirer newspaper and a scrap yard.

Here is a map of the area. You'll notice the bridge crossing the Schuylkill River. On one side is the mill and the scrap yard and on the other is the chemical plant, newspaper and NS interchange.

Hope this helps!
