Building at left is 48-16 70th Street, Woodside, built 1940 according to the Buildings Commissioner records on file.

Located across the street from the Winfield team track, not a railroad customer.

Sometime after replaced by position light signals, anyone?
The symbols on the blueprint are the standard symbols for PRR position-light signals and show aspects not possible on semaphores, so the PLs must have been in service on 12/20/40. Also, almost all PRR signals were by Union Switch & Signal of Swissvale, PA (Pittsburgh),while this installation is by General Railway Signal of Syracuse, NY (and we all know what railroad served Syracuse!), and the switch and signal numbering is not in accord with US&S practice. (Very unusual -- I was told that the PRR used GRS for Bryn Mawr interlocking as an experiment but they stuck with US&S.)

Edit: The signal bridge in the photo is the one west of the bridge shown as Grand Ave. on the blueprint, looking west, if that's any help.

Both signal bridges are still there today.
All switches are gone.
Remains of the team and coal trestle are still there. As is the foundation of win tower.

It’s a very shortsighted move to not restore more of Win as part of the new “wood” interlocking

Anyone know when the PRR position light signals replaced the semaphore signals after 1940?
The name of the business at the far left?

Thank you.
Supro Building Supplies and it was a railroad customer. In the fall of '73 and the spring of '74 the local would service the team track about 10:00a. a few times a week and then proceed on to its next customer- the Jane Parker bakery of A&P in Flushing.
