I just don't see a reason to divert at Farmingdale from the Southern. Either Southbound or Northbound the route makes no sense to go toward Freehold with traffic for Lakewood or Red Bank.

No way they will run Farmingdale-Freehold tomorrow and probably not next week. Fairfield Rd - Yellowbrook Rd may not be completely ballasted yet, certainly hasn't been aligned and tamped even for the first pass. If 1888 was east of Okerson this morning, (pics or it didn't happen) they didn't tread past Fairfield.
I could see engine running light from the Southern to Yellowbrook, to settle the track, but no further.
