No doubt 1966 was still fresh in some minds at N. Billerica

A couple shots from the Rockingham to Portsmouth run today. The first is at "emery" at Barberry Lane, just before the line passes over the Rt 1 bypass...abandoned Hampton branch on left. The second shot is in Portsmouth as they begin the hike up to Newington.

Nice shots — especially the second one! There won't be too many more opportunities to photograph Pan Am and Guilford locomotives in front of the new bridge.

Looks like they are building a new track panel in Portsmouth yard for the Maplewood Ave crossing. Its in pretty bad shape and is the only one that didn't get replaced when they did the others a while back, stay tuned!!!

Seems like there has been a lack of activity lately on the branch line. Saw some MOW equipment a week or so ago and some new ties have been been placed trackside at various places in Greenland. There are full loads in the yard and also on the woods track at Rockingham. They have sat there a while now.

At Depot Road yesterday. Tough to get a good shot of the old station as the foliage is really filling in. Getting the shots of the "old" locos while I can...wonder what the next units will look like. As usual, great crew as they obliged all the kids at the science center by giving them a few blasts on the horn, while the kids cheered.

Quite possible. I can't think of any other military installation that has rail unless there's something way down Maine. Do you know if it's a load or inbound empty car?

No idea. It looks different to the usual cask cars. Don’t know much of anything about it unfortunately. It’s not at Rockingham or in Portsmouth so not sure where it is now.

It probably went to Rigby to get reblocked and will come down on D0-1. Did you see it firsthand or an image somewhere ?

Heard yesterday it was in Rigby and was indeed destined for PNSY. Not sure when though. DO-2 headed into Portsmouth late lastnight (after 11pm)... Not sure whether or not it included the navy load.
