So in 2013 or so, a house was near the end of the trail to get out to the overlook - effectively blocking the easy access. The overlook itself appears to be public property as an adjoining parcel to US 22. Google Earth shows a bunch of zig zag switchback paths to get up the steep hillside from below, but I can't figure out where they come out at the bottom (maybe just animal paths?). Is there still a way to get up there? The Appalachian Trail used to run along the ridge and descend to the valley floor here before it was rerouted, maybe some kind of residual public access or abandoned trail? Just curious, this used to be one of my favorite spots back when I could get down to PA on occasion.
