Died this week.

His 40-year career included service with the NYC, PC, CR, and MN in a variety of departments. Finished as Supt. for GCT and retired about 8 years ago.

Leonard W. Maglione Career MTA executive and superintendent of Grand Central Terminal during restoration period, 73 Leonard W. Maglione, 73, of Manalapan Township, N.J., entered into eternal rest after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 15, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, 344 Rt. 9 North, Manalapan. His Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church in Englishtown, N.J. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, N.Y. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., Mr. Maglione resided in Somers, N.Y., prior to moving to Manalapan, N.J., eight years ago. During his 40-year career with the MTA, Lenny served in many capacities, including Industrial Engineering, Passenger Service, Operations Planning, and Buildings and Structures. His career culminated with his return to Grand Central Terminal in 1996, where he served until his retirement in 2005 as general superintendent and oversaw the restoration of the terminal to its historic beauty. He always said the proudest achievement of his career was being included in the children's book, "Next Stop Grand Central", by Maira Kalman. Leonard was a past exalted ruler of BPOE Elks, Mt. Kisco, N.Y., as well as an avid hunter, golfer, car enthusiast, and N.Y. Yankees fan. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Mary Maglione, and is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joyce Maglione; three adoring daughters and sons-in-law, Maria Maglione and Shawn Patrick of Latham, N.Y., Michele Maglione and Kevin Kelly of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Lenora and Stuart Ziegler of Manalapan, and four loving grandchildren, Connor and Ryan Patrick and Lydia and Dale Ziegler
