Here's a Google Streetview of some great Highliner Foods switching: https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=43.0639 ... 41,,0,8.22" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Here's a whole 'nother view (can barely see the engine) much closer to Highliner Foods: https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=43.0598 ... 88,,0,2.14" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And Google Streetview continues to stalk its prey by the Bartlett St undergrade bridge: https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=43.0704 ... 1,,0,-7.78" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Andddddd another, at the Sarah Mildred: https://maps.google.com/maps?ll=43.0837 ... 86,,0,3.14" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Finally some Sea-3 news: "Lawyers for Sea-3 in Newington have filed a request for an exemption from the state Site Evaluation Committee for the proposed expansion of the company's propane storage and distribution facility. If granted, the exemption would save the company from having the project go through a complete state review which could last as much as a year, according to Michael Iacopino, outside counsel to the committee."

OMG, Sea-3 has never handled this much propane before (see bottom of article). lol the process to unload it will still be the same. Safe as it always was.

They left Rockingham at 15:37. I wonder what happened.

Busy week on the branch. They switched Tyco, Sea-3 (twice), and finally got up the hill to Boise for the first time since January. Here are a few photos from Thu and Fri. There are currently 21 empty cars (tanks, centerbeams, and covered hoppers) in the yard, ready to go. 344 and 316 are tied down, though 344 died overnight Friday. As of Friday night, 343 and a broked-down Amtrak NPCU are blocking the branch at Rockingham.ImageDO-1 at Gosling Road, Portsmouth by ericlreuter, on Flickr

Nice shots, Eric!

Great shots indeed. Is that a new road bridge being built in the 2nd to last shot? Is that immediately west of the Sarah Mildred Long Bridge, and the road will come off of Market St? I'm guessing to access the dock site which is currently only accessible via the property on the other side of the Sarah Mildred Long.

That is not a new road bridge. It looks like a temporary working platform for the crane while constructing the new bridge.

It's a temporary trestle that will extent from Market St. out to the south tower of the new bridge. They are building a similar one in Kittery.

DO-1 (316/344) tied down in Portsmouth today at around 4:30 with 28 empty cars of various types, set to head to Rockingham. The plan is to head out tomorrow, but 343 and an Amtrak cabbage with a bad bearing are sitting on the end of the branch at Rockingham. 343 isn't running, and hasn't since Friday, so moving those out of the way could prove interesting.

Big day on the branch yesterday. DO-1 (316/344) headed to Rockingham late morning with an unprecedented 29 cars.

Waiting on the branch at Rockingham was the Amtrak cabbage that tripped the Exeter detector with a hot bearing last Thursday, plus 344 (dead), and a combined Amtrak/PAR team, ready to replace the bad axle. DO-1 dropped their train on the causeway, and headed up to push the cabbage onto the grade crossing to facilitate the repair.

Here's a series of photos of the axle replacement. Very cool to watch this done in situ.
