Hi,

As of August 2013, does anyone know the current status of the UP standard cab SD60s? Are they stored, in service, sold off, etc.

Thanks.

I can tell you that 2231 and I believe 2170 are both at Albina Yard, Portland, Oregon. Have been for quite some time. 2231 was working as a yard switcher along with a SD40-2 on October 13th.

I know we have somewhere around 400 or so in the fleet, ranging from the SD59 to the SD62, all falling under the SD60 family. How many are in service? Not many. I've seen 3 and worked on 1 in the 2 years I've been with the UP. I wish I could disclose the location of where they're stored, but I can't. All I can tell you is how many we own.

Just saw one (UP 2225) around the St. Paul area. I can provide a picture if you are interested.
