1508 remains on the Naugy, stored unserviceable at this time. There is a possibility that it may see some shop time in 2009 to restore it to operating condition.

Stag,

Answer to question # 1
The # 42 was given a dip job using the regular Rustoleum enamel color International Orange.

Answer to question # 2
The CN coaches were painted a using a custom mixed Benjamin Moore polyurethane enamel. The color was computer matched to a unweathered paint chip of original CN green paint that was removed from inside one of the cars vestibules.

For an answer to question # 3 ask the lettering meister HFM.

The Rust-Oleum used on #42 was the 5200-series water-based industrial enamel. It was scuffed and prepped one day, and sprayed the next. Work was done in 1993 at Stanley Works in New Britain.

The NAUG lettering on the CNR coaches was modified from computer-based fonts, working with a sign and graphics shop. A number of hours and lots of tweaking was necessary to get the letters to match (almost exactly) the older CNR letters.

If I recall - the job was done INDOORS - a harbinger of the current Naugy situation.

When are we going to tackle the 14 ton BLOCK OF STEEL [as opposed to Pancho's Plank of Wood [Pooch Cafe]] ????

Minds with wrenches want to know.

PS. The show truck got a 1990 rear axle transplant after the brake lines decided to give up - YE HA! Almost as good as Slim Pickens riding down THE BOMB!
I'm going to call it the Bionic Truck & dump Viagra into the gas tank. Also, it is back into stealth mode - the problem was 2 bolts decided to disconnect from their nuts allowing the catalytic perverter to exhaust to atmosphere through the pipe gap. Amazing what a lift can accomplish. Damn! 1 years worth of stocked up earplugs down the drain. I can listen to NPR now!!!!! And use the cell phone???

Check PB=Blaster's stock, quite a few gallons were used in the endeavour loosetening things that are so old that they were forged from gen=u=ine Missabe Iron Range steel, pulled by Yellowstones - not that modern day F-7's.

Canna,

Have you been hanging around Michael Phelps again, because based on that last post, I'm beginning to wonder!

The 2525 is waiting, much like B&M 1508, B&M 1732, MEC 557, for some overhaul items before it can return to service on the Naugy. If you are interested, contact the webmaster at rmne.org or check out our blog to find out how you can help. I see you are from Conneticut so you should stop by! Many hands put many historic locomotives back on the road!

OK - let's get to the important things - FOOD!

What would youze guys enjoy for lunch:

1. I'll take Manhattan Clam Chowdah - major goodie seafood if you are not allergic....
2. I can't wait for tomorrow's pain Chili - please consult with your proctologist before voting....
3. I don't know what a Lancaster Hot Pot is [ It is British - Google it!].
4. I love the Irish Stew made with Guinness, of course
5. Tamales RRRRRR Me [this takes 2+ days to make from proco, pollo, and if you really want lingua, my favorite - Mama Sita}, it is finger lickin' good - your choice of Nook-lear sauces
6. Gen-u-ine Chicken & dumpling Stew, er I mean stew. Just in time for Pesach.
7. CRABBY Al's cakes [crab cakes A La Omar] with home made tartar sauce on a bun.
8. Coq au vin - I'll parade around in a chicken costume if this wins.....
9. Kim Chi Jigae - very healthy! My second favorite. Shoot, I'll just do this if nobody will object.
10. Real Cous-Cous - but someone needs to direct me to a proper butcher for goat meat....
11. Vegetarian - award winning hummus with pickled turnips & romaine lettuce & tahini with a scorching Harrisa sauce in a pita bread.
12. Sausage & Peppers on the grille - NOT - some one else has this venue - you can make your choice, but I'd be crushed....

13. And as a tribute to Utah Phillips and the AT&SF - Moose Turd Pie

Maybe, just maybe, if you want to experience culture from the gents who brought you the planets newest steam locomotive - the A-1 4-6-2 Pacific - I'll do a proper English Tea Service, cucumber sandwiches and all that rot....

Please make your requests known at this forum if you are planning to attend and work.
All responses will be carefully cataloged on the North American tectonic plate, planet Earth.
The dissemination of the final menu[s] will be made in good enough time to contact various travel agencies to flee the continent.

Of course, brown baggers will be welcomed and traditional "food" will be available at your risk at the Naugy Grille and Bar-B-Que. Actually, the saw-cheeche and burgers were DAMN good! Thank you Hinman!
