Today in Essex Junction, Vt I saw a NECR Engine pulling four Providence and Worcester Railroad Business Cars. Does anyone know what the purpose of this trip was?

The train was carrying PWRR railroad executives who were checking out the route the recent coal trains have been taking. However, instead of going over Vermont Railway in Bellows Falls, they continued on the NECR into St. Albans, VT.

That train did go through Bellows Falls on the way to St. Albans. That's where VRS and the NECR diverge, one going up each side of the river from there NECR on the New Hampshire side, and VRS on the VT side.
