Well, I do not know for sure and I have not been in the area too much
recently, but I worked the Mohawk for the last ten years before I retired
and it was always considered a night division for freight trains. Most of
the van trains would leave in the AM out of Selkirk and most of the freight
trains would leave in the PM or very early AM out of Selkirk.
Traffic patterns sometimes change and that might be what is happening
today.
It was an interesting line to work and I am sure that it is an interesting line
to watch today as well.

PS In my day out of Buffalo, freights early in the AM and into the daylight
part of the morning, then vans and more vans during mid-day and into
the afternoon. One or two more freights possible in the evening.

its just you...

they may be adjusting terminal send/recieve times near you, but this sort of stuff happens all the time

through freights have to run at "night" SOMEWHERE... maybe it just a higher percentage of fright happens to be running at "night" near you now...

as noel stated, most van trains go through Selkirk during night hours............(i.e. Q115 leaves Boston around 7PM and gets to Selkirk around 2:00/2:30 am, with Q117 usually about an hour or less on his tale)

Many trains are running late due to lack of power and crews....sometimes both.

Trains on the River Line coming north have been delayed due to MOW work windows. That could explain some "late" trains.
