What's the current status of the Lawrence, MA yard? It's looking pretty empty these days so I'm wondering if it's still used/needed and what jobs might run out of that yard at all.

- Guilford Rail System changed its name to Pan Am Railways in 2006. Discussion relating to the current operations of the Boston & Maine, the Maine Central, and the Springfield Terminal railroads (as well as the Delaware & Hudson while it was under Guilford control until 1988). Still the crew base for of the ex-PAR Eastern MA local jobs and will remain so.
CSX is planning to rehab a few tracks to expand operations. My guess is they will kill off Lowell switching as soon as possible.
