It will probably end up like the CN 5000, promised to a museum but scrapped at the last second.

Based on the internet it looks like IC 6071 might be donated to the Monticello Railway Museum, if CN doesn't scrap it first. Monticello will be a good home for it. Most of their equipment looks like it has been restored, and by restored I mean it is in tip-top shape and completely spotless. When I was there this summer I saw people working on at least five pieces of equipment. I like their business plan too, storing hundreds of freight cars.

That's a shame. CN probably swapped out the Flexicoil trucks it was built with and stuck a pair of motorless HT-C trucks under there. Makes it all the more harder for Monticello to restore it to a prototypical appearance if they do get it.

Interesting, doesn't look as bad as I thought (I stand corrected on the trucks, those are authentic flexicoils under that loco). Horns are easy to find. The numberboards were probably scavenged by employees or foamers and new ones can be cut and painted in no time.

Still a shame Monticello will have to go to the trouble of re-installing the motors (if they get the unit) but at least the unit is intact. Also makes me wonder why CN is all of a sudden pulling motors from engines it gives to museums. Less than two years ago IRM's WC SD45-2 was donated only missing very minor parts (i.e., light bulbs) and if I recall correctly, was operating less than 48 hours after it was delivered.
