It only took me five years to see a Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit and capture my own images of one, but the stars aligned
and I caught NS train 28N today with the Lehigh Valley #8104. I got my shots on East Attica Hill at Spring Road and by the bridge
at Dry Bridge Road, then I zipped ahead a bit and got it by the mill at Linden. As the train passed Linden, it started gaining speed
after cresting the hill. After the train passed by, I drove over to Silver Springs to see if the Rochester & Southern was doing anything.
To my surprise, 28N was being held at CP-Silver Springs waiting for track patrol to clear. After a short delay, I got one last shot as 28N
resumed it's trip east.

Sorry, I tried to post them so the images automatically show, but the stupid size limit prevented it.

Skunked no more! 😄

I re-sized some of the shots I took of the 8104 on East Attica Hill, Linden and Silver Springs so that the pics will show
up on here as images as opposed to links. It was a fun day, hope you enjoy! 😎

Nice job, Charlie!

For those who missed the LV unit or want to see #8104 again, she is the 2nd unit on 23K. The HU website reported the train in MA last night, so I expect there will be a good chance of seeing the LV unit on the Tier today.

Thank you kindly! Train 23K was reported at Binghamton as of 8:00 AM on the Heritage Units website.

Apparently it's been sitting there for a couple weeks near Morton Salt. With the blue flame incorporated
into the paint scheme, I assume it's natural gas powered or some kind of hybrid.

=Here's a fair-use quote from an article from Progressive Railroading about IHB receiving CNG locomotive engine systems.
OptiFuel Systems LLC last week shipped two dual fuel locomotive engine systems to Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad (IHB), which will use them for its compressed natural gas (CNG) repower program.

The systems will be installed on the first two of 31 CNG Tier 4 switcher locomotives in IHB's program, according to an OptiFuel Systems press release.

NS #911 (First Responders) is leading westbound train 37T, reported by Painted Post as of 5:47 PM. It'll be dark by the time it reaches the
western end of the Southern Tier line.
