He was referring to the Attleboro Line......that's why he said on the "Corridor". The max on lines South of Boston is also no more than 70MPH, except for the Amtrak Main-line which is in some spots in excess of 100MPH, but the T equipment is restricted to 80MPH.

the coach's are restricted to 80 mph, the engines are able to do 50 mph lite, 80 mph w/ multiple lite, and with a train 100 per rule 37-S5 (Engines and Equipment- Max speeds/restrictions)

They were still there this morning, but now there's an engine hooked up on the south end of the consist.

Has anyone gotten a close-up look at the 920-923 set to see if they have manual doors like 916-919?

Now with 19 new cars operational on the south side (3240 seats, or the equivalent of 27 single level cars), there has yet to be a net gain of one additional car to the north side.

there was a 900 series car on the Attleboro line today, didn't catch the number of the car, but it looked like it was an old colony set (the double decker was in the middle of the train)

I finally caught the car number today, and I had the "honour" of riding the train with it. It is Bilevel 778 (on the right side as you go south towards Attleboro), which is the next to last car with Cab Bilevel 1722 on this week's consists on the Attleboro/Stoughton line.

Finally starting to see them regularly on the Worcester line.

The 6:06AM/6:05PM Worcester trains now have 6 double-deckers and 1 MBB car. A 600 series was replaced by a 900 series over the last week.

7:07AM/4:58PM now has 8 cars, which are the first 8 car trains on the Worcester line. Both of these runs now have a 900 series as well. They are running 5 1700/700, 1 900, and 1 500.

Four new cars.....924, 925, 926 and 927. WOw! they are really coming at a great pace;..and not a moment too soon!

Looks like there are only 6 more to come,..33 in total, I believe.

Kudos to the MBTA for filling a dire need in a relatively short time

are 916-919 still the only ones w/ non electric doors?

  by sery2831

No, the last 8 cars just brought in have non electric doors.

I'm just back from a 12-day business trip... and see that no one has updated the info.

Tied up in front of BET yesterday evening were eight cars:
S-920-...-927-N

so which cars have non-electric doors? 916-919 and what others?

btw, i was in my first 900 series double decker saturday and they are nice :-D i was in 919

The 920...927 set of eight cars in front of BET appeared to have handles, implying manual doors.

That being said, cars that are automatic-door capable can be switched back-and forth, such as many of the formerly automatic 200-series cars now running on the north side with manual doors. (You can still see the "D" decal next to the car numbers on those cars.)

As of this morning, in front of BET:

S-1058-924-925-926-927 / 920-921-922-923-N (the two four-car sets were not coupled, though the engine was coupled to 924).

Why have these been sitting there for so long? The prior sets were tested and accepted more rapidly.
