I can't speak for what happens on BNSF, but SWS can go both ways. Compared to RI, SWS consist changes happen a lot. I would say on average at least one set changes during the week, while a consist on RI can remain the same for months. My guess is that because SWS consist contain older cars, more consist changes are required. Another reason I notice more changes on SWS could also be the placement of the 700's being the fluting is different and they stick out easier.
