In the 20 years I've been a member of this site (17 years as a moderator), this is the first year we haven't had an April Fools' Day joke in the Guilford/Pan Am forum. I guess that's because so many of the April Fools' jokes from previous years have actually come true: name changes, leased six-axle locos, partnership with NS, GE locos, F-Units, F-Units pulling circus trains, dome car, buy-out by CSX... πŸ˜‚

Anyway, Happy April Fools' Day everyone!

It's been a bit since I took any analogy test, but wasn't there a"::" about being careful about what one wished for and being careful about what one fooled about cuz they might just come true?

Ask and ye shall receive; CSRR crews have begun clearing brush and timber around Quebec junction with the intent of restoring the wye there. This is phase one of a much larger plan to reopen the entire Conway branch. This is to facilitate movement of wood chips which are currently trucked from the Billerica mass. area to the power plant in Whitefield NH, which as we all know, is just a short distance from Quebec Junction. Routing will be PAR/CSX Billerica to Dover NH, where NHN will pick the cars up and hand them off to CSRR at Conway, who will move them to Whitefield during the night.

Too bad that plant closed last year.... at least the brush cutting is actually happening.
