I was looking at plans for AAPRCO's 2006 convention and I see the convention special train will operate from the Amtrak station at Albany-Rensselaer NY to Steamtown National Historic Site at Scranton PA via Binghamton NY on Wednesday September 20th. This would be an Amtrak special train, 3 units pulling approximately 25 privately owned passenger cars.
Isn't most of this mileage between the Albany area and Scranton area former D&H mileage ?
On September 18th and 19th, the special train makes a circuit from Albany-Rensselear to Schenectady, Whitehall, Rutland, Bellows Falls, St Albans, Burlington, Rutland and return to Albany-Rensselaer.
I believe the Schenectady - Whitehall portion of that run, currently covered by the Adirondack and the Ethan Allen, is former D&H mileage.
