While researching the Rock Island TA, I read that #602 was labeled Burlington Rock Island above the letterin The Rocket. Does anybody have more information on that special paint scheme or even a nice side picture, which would show what time of lettering they used.

Thanks

Engineshop-here are a couple of views from the Rock Island Technical Society website-no evidence of "Burlington" lettering in these two views.

Is the photograph dated.? Didn't Rock Island and Burlington share some track in TEXAS? ? ? ?

Rock Island operated a Texas Rocket for four months starting August 29, 1937. This may have been the train that 602 was used on. Train operated from Dallas to Houston on what was called the Burlington-Rock Island.

They also had that "Zephyr Rocket" they jointly operated with the Q. The TA could have been pool power for that train.
