I searched Railroad.net and could not find a thread specifically for the NJCL; I decided to start this thread as a result. If there is a thread on the NJCL, please let me know and I will make sure to save it in my browser.

There is an MMC test train on the line now; they will be going to RARE

Equipment move bound for Bay Head with 4300 leading. They will follow the 10:46 westbound from Long Branch.

MM08 went to Bay Head with 4300, a Comet V cab, 2 coaches, and 4303. Interestingly enough, they just went around the loop; they must've fixed the shopped car before MM08 got there...

All ALP-45s, except for a lone PL, are in the yard

Thanks for creating this thread, I listen quite a bit every day so I'll be chiming in.

MM08 went to Bay Head this past Sunday night with MP20B-3 #1004 leading

Train 2303 was cancelled today, which means Bay Head is down one consist. They will likely deadhead one down later on tonight.

The detector you're referring to is the detector at MP E4.0; this detector is located somewhere near the Woodbridge station.

Milepost E4.0 - it's pretty self explanatory where its at. Hot bearing and/or dragging equipment detector.

Driving a cab in the Asbury Park - Bradley Beach - Belmar area at night, I'm within sight or earshot of the NJCL most of the time. It's nice to spot an equipment move, away from the relative sameness of 8-car ML's and 4-car Comet trains. Growing up along the NY&LB, I saw so many changes since the late 50s. An equipment move is a nice change of pace. Fun to see a GP40 LHF blasting down to Bay Head dragging a single coach, or maybe a Comet, a ML, another Comet, and an electric loco (dunno why an electric would be brought to Bay Head and back) or maybe a 4-car Comet with a GP40 catching a ride on the tail end.

Pennsy K4's, Sharks, PA's, E-units, and the Doodlebugs, CNJ Trainmasters and Babies, RS3's, GP7's, GP40's, PC and Conrail E's, NJT Screamin' F40's and GP40's, PL42's, and Dual Powers, not to mention so many different kinds of coaches, and so many freights that used to run.

Great memories. A camera? Nope, never thought to bring one too many times, but I see them in my mind.

The twin F40s made it down to Bay Head last night on the MM-08; here's a picture: https://flic.kr/p/UifJ8L" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The shuttle engines are 4508, 4528, and 4016. I only know one of the NYP direct engines, which is 4533
