Hi,
I know what a pocket is but looking at an aerial view (google maps etc) of the station can someone id exactly where the pocket is? As in when the dispatcher says "Train #xxxx do your station work and reverse into the pocket". And while I'm at it can you id the track numbers as in "Y 8 in Long Branch". Thanks, Joe.

The pocket refers to both main tracks. When a train reverses into the pocket, they reverse to the westbound signals at BATH and wait for signal indication back into the station. The yard tracks in Long Branch are as follows, from left to right:
Y1 (closest yard track to the parking lot/street)
Y2
Y3
Main 2
Main 1
Y5
Y6
Y7 (this track is usually used only to store equipment that is awaiting pick up to be repaired)
Y8
Y9
Y10 (Long Branch protect is stored here)

A signal pocket is a segment of track between two opposing signals. Signal pockets can exist within, and outside of, interlocking limits. For instance, Trenton Station/FAIR interlocking has signal pockets too.
