Hi,
While standing waiting for the F train Coney Island bound at Jay st, Boro hall I noticed that the A and C line seems to have more frequent service. 2 or more A and C trains arrive before 1 F train does.

Is this because of the many local stops the F must make and therefore kills the lines performance? Or just not many F trains scheduled?

I believe that there was signal trouble this morning in the Brooklyn-bound direction on the F line at 21st St-Queensbridge...that might explain a lack of or delay in F service.

That being said, the A and the F are scheduled for approximately the same service level during rush hours (both run about 15 tph in the peak hour, peak direction), but the F has slightly more midday and other off-peak service. There is more of a well-defined peak direction on the A (from Bklyn AM, to Bklyn PM) than on the F (although to/from Queens is busier). The C runs every 10 minutes (6 tph) pretty much any time it is operating. So, the combined A/C services will be more frequent than the F alone.
