I will be visiting the NY/NJ metro area in August and expect to be using the PATH system on a few occasions. I've read on the PATH website that pay-per-ride MetroCards can be used in their turnstiles to pay a PATH fare. On the MTA system, a pay-per-ride card can be used to pay for up to 4 people at a time - does the same rule apply when using MetroCard for PATH?

Yes, you can put enough money on your MetroCard to pay for you and the rest of the people in your party and use the same card each time somebody goes through the turnstiles. This works on PATH as well.
