As part of the redesign of the SI Ferry Terminal the entrance to the 1/9 platform was also changed a bit. That resulted in the removal of the door to the left of the token booth which led to the inner loop platform (which they have field offices).

To compensate they reopened the street entrance across the street next to Battery Park. They erected an entrance kiosk over the rebuilt stairs. The kisok, which is gated, is an open type (I can't think of another way to describe it) made of metal bars and fencing.

The stairs lead down to another door which leads to the platform.

Since you mentioned this location, what is the status of the Ferry Terminal reconstruction? I haven't been there since last summer. Is it anywhere near completion yet?

It is getting closer to completion but they still have work to do.

At this point it is the "N ISLAND FERR" terminal
