It's not so much that the pan fell off, but that it came up for some reason and got ripped off.

Ooops. That would be rather comical if it weren't for all the delays it caused.

Yeah, but it's a miracle nobody got killed at Melrose station when it came off. When it comes to incidents of this kind MNR has been really lucky.

I believe one of the pans was even driven back through the roof of one of the M2s, wasn't it? Guess that one will be on the M2 retire list.....
