How accurate are these walthers models to the real prototype?

The first two are not. VRE started with former MBTA Boise Budds--depowered RDC's--and a stack of Brazilian-built single-level stainless coaches. The BBD Comet cars make a decent stand-in for the Brazilian cars if you've never seen one up close...

I haven't seen a full bilevel repaint that wasn't a St. Louis car (the Walthers is a Pullman), but I could be wrong. Didn't find any on railpictures.net.

So, the Walthers bilevel could be right, but otherwise the best thing is to
buy a Metra-painted bilevel and reletter it. Second-best is to repaint the Kato St. Louis-style cars. You'll still need single-level cab cars, though.
