Just returned to UK from recent California trip. Noticed at LA while taking trains toward Oceanside/San Diego route a compound before reaching Amtrak coach sidings with Metrolink Bombardier coaches (presume out of service) plus also two locos which I believe are 851 and 865, as revealed by taking photos with a zoom lens when passing by. Does anybody know if these locos are off roster, stored, likely to come back in service???

Many thanks

With the Rotem Cab cars now in service for Metrolink(SCAX),the BBD cars are to be remanufactured into regular coaches
and have the controls removed, the contract shop is unkown.
Amtrak in the past has been cycling F59's and Surfliner cars from the state owned fleet(AMTK-CA) to Beech Grove
for overhauls.

Not too long ago,Amtrak resumed contract operations of Metrolink commuter service from Veolis Transportation services.

Just north of Oceanside is the Joint Coaster/Metrolink Stuart Mesa Yard.
Taylor yard north of LAUPT is the main Metrolink yard/shop facilty.
