The heater/air conditioner unit is under the cab floor on the left hand side of the locomotive. It's right behind the door that is below the conductor's side window.
No problem. Thats where the HVAC units are on all of EMD's full width style cabs starting with the SD-60s. Not much trouble to change out . Just a forklift , a few wrenches and a prybar.
