NS 5302

Spotted the 5302 in Suffern, NY, yard tonight. Read that it is a GP-50 rebuilt to a GP-38-2. Interesting to note that the middle fan was removed, not the nearest one towards the cab. Very unusual looking.

Actually GP38-3. I have yet to see any up here.

removing that fan makes a very disctinctive roofline!

not on the lower tier!

NS 5302 is a common ex Conrail GP38-2 not rebuilt from anything. it has been a GP38-2 all its life.
