The CN has been improving the EJ&E around Leithton(where EJ&E meets WC) going westward for months. Large amount of construction equipment has been in the area since spring. They have added trac

Traffic on the EJ&E is actually lower than before the takeover due to the recession. CN has been doing work around Joliet. Today they were replacing hand powered switches at the north entrance of the yard with powered switches. They've also extended CTC from Joliet until West Chicago, replaced spring switches in Plainfield and Matteson and are working on extending the siding at Frankfort in preparation for a second main from Joliet to Frankfort. They're also demolishing a lot of the old buildings at Joliet Yadrd, I'd imagine to add more yard tracks when a lot of the traffic from Glenn gets moved there.
