After having ridden and drove from Montrose, Pa to Tunkhannock for the last 35 years, I realized yesterday there was a railroad that ran the same way.
I looked it up last night, and found that it was a branch of the Lehigh Valley.

So:
When was it abandoned.
Are there any books that talk about this branch.
How heavily was it used.

Anything else.

Thanks
Brian

Seems that the Montrose branch,Tunkhannock-Montrose, PA, 27 miles, went o/s account Hurricane Agnus in 1972. Lehigh Valley G.O. 1001 of 10 August 1975, item (d) states: Montrose branch between Tunkhannock and Montrose out of service account track conditions.

There are a few photos of the branch including one of a LV local circa 1967 in Archer plus mention of how and when the line was acquired by the LVRR.
