this afternoon i rode 809 to Providence and before train 816 left, i noticed on track 7, there was a restricting aspect at the signal just after the station platform. (red over yellow) what P&W train was going to go through there?

Probably "PR-3" on their way back to "Boston Switch" to get their main-line back to Central Falls.
