Sounds like something more akin to "The Goon Show," although not near as absurd enough (and not enough references to cardboard!). Still one voice is vaguely similar to that of the late, great Peter Sellers. Mayhapse a Jon Pertwe skit (a British friend of mine tells me he had a one-man show on "the Beeb" before he was "the Doctor")?
