I remember an excursion - I believe it was 1986 - from Hoboken to Port Jervis which was to be powered by the Nickel Plate 765; however, it was unavailable for some reason and the BM&R 425 was substituted in its place. Two of M&E's Centuries assisted the 425. This was a rare instance in which I did not ride an area mainline steam trip. Rather, my wife and I waited in the rain with a group of other nuts in Secaucus for the return leg. She was the smart one for being the only one in the bunch with an umbrella. Given the lousy weather and fading light, my shot turned out quite well but I failed to record the specific date. Does anyone recall this trip and the date it ran?

Thanks in advance.

This was billed as "Eastern Steam Spectacular" or something like that. Jointly sponsored by Jersey Central and Tri State chapters of NRHS. August 2 & 3 1986. I recall seeing the equipment move (lots of BM&R's ex DL&W MU's for coaches) at Denville on Friday night August 1.
